Mar 12, 2004: Opens Ebay Online Auctions

EASTERNMARKET.NET OPENS EBAY ONLINE AUCTIONS

WASHINGTON, DC (March 12) Easternmarket.net has taken a next step in bringing Eastern Market exhibitors online.

Easternmarket.net is now offering merchandise for auction on Ebay under the seller name: easternmarketnet. Use the link to the right to reach the easternmarketnet Ebay home page and for a preview of merchandise currently for sale. A link is also available at the top right of the easternmarket.net home page.

“Securing the easternmarketnet seller name and designing a home page on Ebay completed a long-envisioned step toward E-commerce,” said Tom Rall, owner of easternmarket.net and manager of The Flea Market at Eastern Market on Sundays.

EasternMarketNet Auctions plans to offer a variety of merchandise for sale. The auction site adds an additional potential outlet along with easternmarket.net, both “24x7” venues, for exhibitors to advertise their merchandise to a global Internet audience.

The auction site will offer items on consignment from anyone who wishes to sell under the EasternMarketNet brand. The auctions will be managed by the Ask1expert, a computer services company which is also an exhibitor at The Flea Market at Eastern Market on Sundays.

“I’m impressed with the activity on the auction site,” said Rall, noting that The Eastern Market “brand” dates back to 1873.

“Eastern Market is a trusted place of business in the DC area and in the international flea market community at large. We are going to continue bringing that trust to the web to further expand the Eastern Market experience,” Rall promised.
