The Flea Market at Eastern Market on Sundays continues to be a shopping destination in DC.
A REVIEW TO YELP ABOUT
Market rated Number 1 shopping destination in DC
Yelp, an online multi city community review guide of local businesses, has had many people write about their Eastern Market experiences and what they love about it. Recently we discovered that Yelp Washington rates Eastern Market as the number 1 best place to shop.
"Probably the best reason to live on the Hill", is how one reviewer, Sean G. describes it. "I would rather go shopping here than in Georgetown." Alexa B. wrote.
Another reviewer, Karen K. writes, "If I ever did move back to DC, I would make sure I lived within walking distance of Eastern Market. It does get crowded on the weekends, but the architecture, the food, the flowers, the jewelry, the artwork!! Wow. "
Yelp considers itself the ultimate city guide that taps into the community's voice and reveals honest and current insights on local businesses and services. You can check out all the comments and insights at Yelp.com
Event Coming Sunday May 6
The 44th Annual Friendship House Market Day festival will be held from 11-6 Sunday, May 6 on 7th Street from South Carolina Avenue SE to North Carolina Avenue SE. The pedestrian-friendly event features food, arts and crafts, children's games and rides, live music, DJs, health screening and more.
Market Day benefits Friendship House Association, a Capitol Hill organization now in its 2nd Century of Service to Children, Youth and Families. Both The Flea Market at Eastern Market and Market 5 Gallery are among event sponsors.
"As a graduate of Friendship House programs, I look forward to working with the organization on another event," enthused William "Rudy" Coates, assistant manager of The Flea Market at Eastern Market, a Market Day sponsor. "The flea market will also be open," Coates continued, "and the two events really complement each other."
