Nov 12, 2010: Celebrating Tourism

FREE $5 DISCOUNT OFFER!
The email newsletter of Cultural Tourism DC (CTdc), "Weekly Events Update," is featuring a month-long promotional offer to its subscribers for a $5 discount on purchases at The Flea Market at Eastern Market during November.

"We were thrilled to be chosen by CTdc as the first of its 230+ member organizations to be featured in a monthly co-promotion," exclaimed flea market manager Tom Rall. "Weekly Events Update has been one of the top generators of referrals to our web site for several years, so we really appreciate what it does.

"CTdc cultural and heritage organizations are devoted to art, music, dance, museums and theaters of every type," Rall continued, "and its weekly newsletter is a great source of information for both tourists and area residents about what's happening in the cultural sphere every week."

The CTdc print-out offer, which expires November 31, can be found here. While at the promotion web page, Rall suggests you explore the CTdc web site. "In particular, I urge our readers to sign up for its weekly Events Update, which can also be accessed here.

LITERARY KICKS BLOG FEATURES FLEA MARKET MEMORIES
Received in the mail box recently was a note from Alan Bisbort, a former flea market exhibitor, who wrote "thought you might enjoy my stroll down memory lane." He enclosed a print out of "Notes from the Secondhand Store," his memoir of working in the used book trade in Washington published by the online blog, "Literary Kicks." We thought our bookish readers might find the story interesting, here.
